Something mysterious is happening at Boulder Ridge, and we can’t crack the case alone. Last year, you helped us solve the mystery of the missing gemstones, and this year, the adventure continues with a great challenge!

As we continue to expand our zoo, we’ve uncovered even more ancient treasures buried deep within the park. But before we could fully explore our discovery, it vanished! Our animal friends are acting suspicious, and we believe they might be hiding these rare gems. That’s where you come in!

We need all Jr. Detectives to report for duty on Saturday, September 12th. Armed with your wits and your best detective gear, embark on a self-guided adventure through the zoo to uncover clues, solve riddles, and track down the hidden treasures. Who knows, there might be a special reward in store for those who crack the case!

Join us for a special two-week conservation event celebrating the amazing journey of Monarch butterflies! Each afternoon at 1:30 pm, our Zoo Keepers will host keeper talks and—when butterflies are ready—tag and release Monarchs into the wild.

Because butterflies emerge from their cocoons on their own unpredictable schedule, tagging and releases will happen daily only if butterflies are ready. Guests may even catch a glimpse of one of our newly released butterflies fluttering around before she begins her long migration to Mexico!

Throughout the day, guests can:

Learn how to help Monarchs and pollinators through planting butterfly-friendly gardens

Explore educational displays in the barn, including microscopes and butterfly wings up close

Enjoy butterfly coloring pages and fun family activities

These butterflies are part of the “super generation”—a special group that makes the incredible journey all the way to Mexico for the winter. Come be part of their story and learn how you can support conservation at home.
