Join us for a special two-week conservation event celebrating the amazing journey of Monarch butterflies! Each afternoon at 1:30 pm, our Zoo Keepers will host keeper talks and\u2014when butterflies are ready\u2014tag and release Monarchs into the wild.<\/p>\n
Because butterflies emerge from their cocoons on their own unpredictable schedule, tagging and releases will happen daily only if butterflies are ready. Guests may even catch a glimpse of one of our newly released butterflies fluttering around before she begins her long migration to Mexico!<\/p>\n
Throughout the day, guests can:<\/p>\n
Learn how to help Monarchs and pollinators through planting butterfly-friendly gardens \ud83c\udf3c<\/p>\n
Explore educational displays in the barn, including microscopes and butterfly wings up close \ud83d\udd2c<\/p>\n
Enjoy butterfly coloring pages and fun family activities \ud83c\udfa8<\/p>\n
These butterflies are part of the \u201csuper generation\u201d\u2014a special group that makes the incredible journey all the way to Mexico for the winter.
